What is the point of big damage warrior skills with the new anti-burst mechanic?

As the title suggests, there is no point in warrior skills such as Earth Shatter, Perfect Strike if they're not going to deal big damage upfront.
With the recent Anti-Burst Mechanic, these skills are just useless in the endgame, especially against Pinnacle Bosses. I've played Pathfinder with poison and I've one-shotted Uber Arbiter countless times with tick damage. I just started a warrior, I have always been a warrior in previous patches and I was pretty damn good at it. In those previous patches, it was at least kind of balanced because Warriors are able to dish out so much damage with their skills right from the start of the fight. This patch, warrior just feels so bad because of the mechanic. You can't deal big damage upfront because of the half-assed anti-burst mechanic, you're inherently slow (which I get the class fantasy) but combine those two together and you have a class that isn't even a viable class anymore. In my opinion, a huge nerf on player power and damage output is needed.
No player should be able to nuke down a pinnacle boss under 30 seconds. Maybe close to that time at the end of the league with very top of the gear and extremely optimized character. What we are seeing is that almost any character can vaporize pinnacle bosses, week 1 of fresh league, with shitty gear. It's a pointless fight then, no challenge, no reason to pay attention, no reason to do anything else than hold a button for 5 sec. The anti-burst mechanic clearly shows a need of a fix in this area.. it's not a final version I hope and should be more adjusted to the character idea. I agree, Warrior should hit hard. 1) Screen-wide clearing is boring, a bot can play that way.
2) Player power is too high and too fast. Week 1 of each league. 3) I feel over-stimulated, can't see shit on the screen and struggle to find any meaning in blasting maps by 1-button screen clears. 4) Bosses die under 10sec. Pointless. |

What power nerf you all talking about? Melee is barely playable, spellcasters strong only after level 90 and with huge investment of time and resources in equipment. Ranged attack builds are dominating everything, minion builds are scpecific, but at least we pay speed for quality of life.
Nerf the power and spellcasters fall from a cliff untill you can afford 100 div equipment. Melee becomes complete garbage in that case. Ranged attack build will be probably fine still and we will end up with LA rangers once again. Right now we have more or less fine power balance (melee needs some specific buffs, all boss mechanics are nightmare for melee, as well as high density of enemies with this server-client lag). Loot is complete garbage with recent nerfs for rarity and general nerf of drops, except some mechanics (and Atziri Temple is not of them, if we take time to loot ratio). We need not the power nerfs, we need T17-T20 maps, we need new bosses for endgame chase, etc. I.e. do not nerf the progression, extend it! And not grind like we have with temple (access to boss takes from 12 map runs to 60 maps to even get 1 try for boss, and there's no workaround like buying splinters to get one more try). |
