I am skeptical about the design of this boss.
Before 0.4, this optional boss was partially bugged due to the ability to bypass its phases with high DPS. The arrival of 0.4 forces us to go through the phases, which is a good thing. However, GGG is not being fair: readability is very poor (globally in the game, and especially on this boss). With a grenadier, the game turns into a game of chance… The one-shot aspect of the boss is part of an interesting design, but it requires a level of craftsmanship that GGG has not yet mastered: hitboxes are incorrect, readability is nonexistent, and randomness plays a major role in the fight. In short, it feels almost like rushed work for a boss that is no longer anecdotal, since it unlocks tablet juicing. After many attempts, I decided to give up (no amount of gear can help me, only luck can), and then: it is impossible to leave the fight to teleport back to the hideout… !!! This raises a question: was the game properly tested? My 0.4 season ends here, unfortunately, hoping that 0.5 will be better polished (not to mention the temple design, recurring readability issues, etc.). One wish for 0.5 nonetheless: GGG, please give us the option to disable particles. It looks nice the first time, but afterward it just prevents us from seeing ground effects.
