ES/CI and the blue superiority

Wont dive deep, but ive been here since the start, and besides a few years that life was at least a viable competing option, es has been dominating for 12 out of the 15years poe is out.

Im ok with how ES was supposed to be the expensive but better life in the start, but now we get 2.5k int characters and 1200 es chests by day two, how is that even comparable to life builds?

The continuing power creep and crafting options we keep getting, make it easier and easier to stack es and int while life still trails behind SOOOO MUCH behind. On top of that CI literally gives immunity to a damage type (the most dangerous as well), immunity to a damaging ailment, immunity to a few map mods, plus damage conversion to chaos damage that gives further mitigation, that everyone else HAS to build around, while CI has it for free.

There are two changes that can somewhat mitigate or close the gap if you will.

1) Intelligence grant 1% inc es per 10 points (down from 2% per 10)

2) change CI to : your maximum chaos resistance is 100, maximum life becomes 1 this way those builds can still get IMMUNITY to chaos dmg (if thats still a choise you like) but now they have to actually GET that stat putting more pressure on their items.

At some point we have to look both pools and realize the game would be more balanced if they were at least competing with each other.

why do the 2 have to be comparable?
“Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.”
So every CI build gets one shot by chaos damage until they somehow cobble together 25 max chaos res or are forced into shavs/coruscating elixir?

Nah there are better ways to go about it if you wanted to change it.

this will make CI useless outside endgame with overcapped chaos ress. if you want to nerf it then go with something like chaos damage can not bypass ES, life is 1 and may be trhow in some negative chaos ress.

INT stacking has the same problem that most stacking builds have and that is how bonus overlap allowing 1 stat to boost everything. The solution to that is not nerfing INT but limiting the interactions so a single stat cant boost offence and defence at the same time.

which brings the last problem ES vs life dilemma, ES has lots of flat sources (aura, life and mana) meanwhile life is stuck with dissolution of the flesh
,blood magic and that weird amulet which all have big penalties.

my fix to ES would be to keep the high values but go back to the original concept of big buffer but no way to recover it while on combat.

Rather than nerfing ES I think they need to buff HP. Or create new base types with armor/evasion + life so that it can compete with es.

For me what does not make sense is that without any passives on ES you get more raw hp + chaos damage immunity (one problem less to solve) than with two masteries in life and the extra problem of chaos damage.

This league I've tried going hp and I've already quit. Mageblood with armor flasks (close to 100k armor) with determination, purity of elements, rune of fortress, 30 fortify, ~15k evasion, aspect of the crab, 100% suppress, aegis aurora, unnatural instinct for the extra block, 85% all res, 75% chaos and 4600 hp. I die in 1 second to uber sirus chaos damage. Random one shots still. 232,555 effective hp pool without guard skill. with molten shell 536k.

Settlers: no mageblood, no rune, 20k es, 400 armor, 22 evasion (yes, 22, not 22k), no spell suppression, no shield (double wand), no guard skill, 76% all res. Didn't die at all.
