Threaded Light OP?

I love using the Unique Threaded Light but it seems the damage bonus just outshines almost any other option for weapons as a spellcaster. Am I wrong in that?

Spirit stacking seems easy enough to get over +120% spell damage. Finding it early game gives it a generous dmg per spirit usually at +8-12 (atleast when I found mine) and it just gets better the later it goes gaining more spirit that you don't really remove it. None of the other stats matter as well and that damage buff is usually enough to get you through the game.

I'm all for powerful and/or fun but usable builds but it seems to be the ez 'meta' weapon choice that just overshadows almost every other spellcaster weapon. It almost feels like cheating and so a little less rewarding.

Maybe lower its ceiling? but of course atleast make sure everything else is up to a fair usable power.

What are your thoughts?

Its crap. It has no other stat that bit of spell damage.

Rare focus can roll upto 90 spell damage, another 90 spell damage of single element, + spell skill lvl, crit/crit damage, cast speed... Int, mana, mana regen and big chunk of ES.

So its prety crap. Even early on its crap as you dont have spirit unles you run it with scepter.

And its not weapon.

at the very least, its cheaper than finding good +skill lvl modifier weapons. Its scalable and with only using one value no fuss-- Spirit (average everyone can reach 90? +gear additions). No need to re buy every so often. Also doesn't give issues on added cost of spells from the +skill lvls.

Average rare foci are either +2 or +3 skill lvl with sure some extra spell or elem damage somewhere (avg. +30-40%) but TL can also match that with some extra amulet or body armor spirit.

But yeah probably isn't the most efficient scaling late game but it works mid and some early game.

If anything, its a very safe option.
At present market values, a focus with +2 to skills and 100% damage split between all and lightning *starts* at 1 div.

At present I have 464 spirit.

That is 556% increased spell damage.

This alt started T11 at level 69, just got to maps a few hours ago.

I don't need to take spell damage on the tree, because I already have it. While giving up the ES on the focus is a big deal, it's ameliorated by the fact that I don't have to take spell damage on the passive skill tree, at all.

That frees up quite a lot of points.

In my case, I threw most of those points into minion nodes, so I'm running around with an army of spectres and wolves (the wolves are self-immolating for COMD Snap).

It's like being 95% of a minion build and 85% of a full caster at the same time.

The main problem is tanking the hamsters in my computer. I need to switch to a less gpu intensive spectre type, I think.
