" It is unlikely that GGG - who are currently stretched thin across two live service games - are going to have adequate time to investigate issues encountered on unsupported Operating Systems. Particularly in cases where the information provided to allow them to seek to recreate the reporter's system as accurately as possible to ease reproduction efforts is 'thin on the ground'. If you really want them to look into this for you, I'd strongly encourage you to 1) specify a specific Linux distro, and, 2) provide more detailed information on your system, and, 3) elaborate on how it is you are seeking to play Path of Exile in the first place, e.g.;
Believe it or not - I genuinely am trying to help, not to find fault and nitpick for no reason. While I have never worked for GGG, I used to be a public-facing representative of one of their competitors. And if, while working there, I saw a bug report for an unsupported OS with that little information provided, I wouldn't have even bothered to open something on our issue tracker. It would be considered 'non-actionable' due to there being no clearly defined issue that can be reliably reproduced, debugged, and resolved. It's essentially just a complaint. One way of providing more detailed system information is to use Steam's built-in tool; https://www.poecommunity.help/linux/gathering-information/system-info FWIW, no hate - my favourite OS of all time was the Solus distro. But please understand, Linux users do need to make more of an effort to have game developers consider bug reports submitted based on experiences had while using Linux. The simple truth is many issues reported by Linux users get investigated and resolved during lunch breaks and early in the evening rather than having been formally allocated time by team leads. The person reporting the issue initially having clearly performed troubleshooting and made a sincere effort to reduce the time it would take for the studio to investigate the problem does a lot to convince staff to go above and beyond. Inaction, by contrast, is the natural default response. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support. Free Technical Support guides are available here: https://www.poecommunity.help No ads, trackers, or other weird stuff. Last edited by Sarno#0493 on Dec 13, 2025, 12:06:06 AM
