Blood Rage and Indigon Bug?

I have searched through google searches, chatGPT, and a number of forum entries but can't find out why Activating Blood Rage while my indigon stacks are high, takes a chunk (like 75%) of my life at once. And continuing to use it to test it, indeed continuously removes large chunks of life each time, and yet it doesn't touch my energy shield.


1. It shouldn't interact at all like this b/c it doesn't say anywhere that it's dependent on mana at all, and should only be dependent on max life and max ES. No HP removal scaling should exist.

2. If it is dependent on mana, ie the gem works as intended (and needs an updated text to explain such), and therefore scales with Indigon, why does my energy shield NOT take a massive hit/chunk removed with activation.

Once the buff is up, the degen is working as intended (and isn't getting abnormally up-scaled by indigon), it's only the activation that triggers this odd interaction.


It's obviously very dangerous to keep attacking and when one has to activate blood rage, to nearly kill yourself in the process.

ADDENDUM:

Testing it in an actual map, such that I can spend more mana due to different forms of mana recoup while killing enemies, pushes the Activation cost of it to 99% of my life pool. Yet my energy shield is still untouched.

also havent seen many people use bloodrage with kboc, just playing around with buffs or ?

I'm not very good at builds, so I have to look at poe.ninja a lot for templates and ideas.

One of them was using blood rage, which was a good alternative to me saving like 4 skill tree points to get frenzy (I run blight maps, so there are a lot of trash mobs to sustain frenzy most of the time). The blood rage also gives some base apsd too.

The other thing is that it's a spell, so it triggers Bastion of Hope for the spell block (to help cap me out).

I obviously can't spam it (to sustain the spell block) when it keeps taking over half my life each time.

How much mana do you spend recently on average?

If I put 10000 mana spent recently in PoB your blood rage costs nearly 800 life to activate because of your helm which is a solid chunk of your hp.

And as to why its hitting your life and not ES its because blood rage has a life cost.

Also as an aside never ever ever use chatGPT for poe questions. It gets stuff wrong so often that you never know when a landmine of bad info is hiding in something it happens to have gotten right.

Sebk has been running svalinn on his guardian KBOC. He uses frostblink (with his shield charge) for activating the block bonus. And in svalinn he has cold snap as one of the 3 auto trigger ele spells for frenzy charge generation in maps.

I just used the 4 passive points until i swapped to cluster jewels, and then for now dropped frenzy, but will eventually swap to sebks setup.

There is also a graft affix that will generate em on uniques hits for boss frenzy charge

oooh, bloodrages base life cost scales from indigon. indigon scales cost, not mana cost. i feel dumb.

I would drop blood rage, but you could just make sure you activate it first, or wait 4 seconds for indigon to reset before reactivating
