Endgame Tower Idea

Ok here's my endgame tower idea: Make them relevant by making them a sort of juicing "lighthouse" where, once completed, you get to steer a beam to illuminate part of the atlas. Juicing a tower would lead to better mod or maybe a choice of mods. Also you could only illuminate one part of the atlas at a time (so this would avoid the old problem of chasing three tower set-up). Also maybe the interaction is better for certain map biomes / bosses, so there would be incentive to see into the fog via towers. It would make running towers exciting to mod the map!

What if, instead, when you clear a Tower it reveals certain Mechanics in the nearby fog?
So it reveals a local area, but also reveals a few Nodes in an extended area. Maybe it's random. Maybe it can be targeted while making your way through the Tower? Maybe it depends on the Tablets you slot into the Tower? Maybe a bit of 2 *and* 3?

Spoiler
I kinda wish Towers could imbue a small handful of maps with a mechanic based on a Tablet you enter. No mods, just being able to force/control more mechanics sounds like a nice strong QoL for Mapping.
Don't get lost by being so focused on the target that you forget to enjoy your surroundings.
my idea: delete them
I’m thinking abouta dding a Unique Tower that could affect terrain types on the atlas. For example, it could change an area from grass to sand, or allow all maps within its radius to be converted into a single map type.

For example:
If the tower is placed in a desert area, all maps around it could be changed into Oasis maps only or something like that.

I realize I might be a bit biased after farming a single map type in PoE1, so this might not be the best idea balancewise, but I think it could still be an interesting mechanic if cooked enough.
