Leech and regen doesn't work

Hi,

In my maps I make sure not to have monsters cannot leech and players cannot regen, however, my character cannot regen or leech from monsters. I even brought a gain energy shield on hit and that did not work either. This happens on and off and it's causing me to die a lot.
