Lost Ritual Spectres twice this league for no reasons

I first lost my spectres in the Monastery of the Keepers. I removed the spectre gem from my gear to test something. This should put the corpses on the ground which would allow me to resummon them after. It works fine everywhere except in this area where the corpses just never dropped.

Later, I lost my spectres after joining a friend in pvp to have fun. no warning, no corpses on the ground, nothing.

Hours of grinding reduced to nothing.
