Not working in Linux

I installed the free version thru steam and it worked initially. Then I logged in the next day and got some message saying "not available in your area" or something like that.

I tried everything but still no luck. A shame, 'cause i like this game.

Any tips ?

Sorry you're having trouble, but you're going to have to be a lot more specific than that if you want us to try and help.

What is the exact error message?

What is your network setup? Any VPNs, weird special configurations, etc., are you playing via satellite from the north pole, anything like that.

When does the error occur? During game launch, or when you try to log in?

Which region are you in, and which server are you trying to connect to?

Which linux distribution are you using? Are you keeping it updated?

You've tried 'everything,' but what does that actually mean?

I've been playing on linux (via steam) for a couple of years, never had any OS-related issues. Based on what you've said so far (which is admittedly not very much), it doesn't *sound* like an OS-related problem, but we really need more information.

"This game is not available in your territory" is the error message without any VPN connected, just the local wifi. Error occurs when i double click the desktop shortcut. At this point the game in steam is greyed out in steam so it doesn't recognize that it is installed and it is.

I don't get as far as the server page.

I run Zorin linux 17.3 up to date.

I'm in Vietnam. I have Proton VPN. Using the wifi in my accom. atm.

Ok, if I turn on the VPN to NL for example, then it goes further, it says launching, checking configuration, synchronizing with the cloud but then does nothing and reverts to the launch game option. At this stage at least steam recognizes the game is installed.

It did play yesterday just after I installed it. I played the first stage until i got to the city but then it wouldn't load the city so i quit then, and when i tried to login again that's when the problems started.

I tried different steam play compatibility tools like GE proton 10-24, proton experimental, hotfix etc. but those made no difference. When the game did work I had none of those selected anwyay.

Seems like a weird error.

U should try to download the standalone client from the website, just to rule out an error on steams end.
(Lutris or Bottles works well for that)

If the issue persists there aswell, maybe write an email to GGG support.
