Attack + Culling Strike + Item Rarity Gem + Ancestral Bond Keystone

If I last hit a mod with a Rain of Arrows attached to an Item Rarity Gem and Culling Strike while having Ancestral Bond, I kill the mob because of culling strike, but do I get the bonus from item rarity this way?

Does the skill just have to kill the mob, or does it have to kill them through damage?

yes culling strikes work with ancestral bond. even power siphon will kill targets if you use it :P

No, I know that from already testing it, I was just wondering if the Item Rarity support gem works will skills that kill an enemy without doing damage.

Seems pretty obvious, but then again damage over time kills are not affected by Item Rarity gems (which, from what I understand is a glitch that will be fixed eventually) so I figured I'd ask.

If you can't notice the difference when you take it off, does it really matter one way or the other?

If I can't physically see more rarity with my eyes (lol?), does it matter if the game is calculating it or not?

A cool strategy if you were not using ancestral is to drop the rare monsters life to <10% switch to a skill of level 1 who has a good area of effect, linked to culling strike + iir + iiq, Inta kill him. switch again to your normal skill, next rare monster do the same..
