Remnant of Corruption

I play on controller through Steam.
I'm doing Essences and I can't use a Vaal Orb to corrupt Essences.
The in-game prompt I receive is: (Y)Use Remnant of Corruption.
I have no ability to corrupt Essences on controller.
Please fix as soon as possible.

it doesnt work for applying currency to strongboxes either.
