Network Spikes

Have been receiving constant network spikes. I've requested AT&T for a new router and tried using a VPN to no avail. The game will run fine one moment but once I load in a new instance, the network spikes occur. I am connected to ethernet and looking at my win MTR, it seems like an issue with my ISP in jump 3, resulting in packet loss, but the VPN would have resolved the spikes (I think). Potentially, could be a faulty ethernet cord but would like some advice before going on another wild goose chase. I am not experienced in this sort of field so any advice is greatly appreciated. The weird thing is other games like Counterstrike run fine but I have noticed that my google slows down to a slog sometimes. I've done speed test where internet is working fine and then horribly slow the next. Posted below will be my win MTR. Also would full resetting my PC solve anything? Thank you.

Is this a California server? I've also been experiencing issues the past few weeks. My ISP is Sonic and I do see some packet loss on 1 hop related to cloudflare.
Yup Cali server. Ima call up my ISP and pray there is some issue on their end cause at this point im lost as hell.

Looks like AT&T are shitting the bed in-or-around Alameda, CA.

According to the MTR test, neither your router nor the first hop in your ISP's network are having any issues - it's looking like some of AT&T's backbone infrastructure is experiencing congestion and your Path of Exile traffic just happens to be unlucky enough to be sailing right into the hotspot.

If your ISP's support team aren't helpful even after you show them the MTR log, it's possible that using a VPN (Proton's free plan ought to be fine) will be an effective workaround. This isn't really what a VPN is designed to do - but because they change your routing, it's possible using one will stop you from using the troubled infrastructure - more through luck than judgement.

Bro thank you. I thought it was AT&T but wanted some reassurance before contacting them. Again appreciate your input on my previous posts too. I just want to play poe XD.
No worries mate.

Always happy to help if I can!
