Krugal Torment Rare Monster
GGG, have you tested this monster with melee builds?
It already fires that annoying green beam every chance it gets so why do you have to give it a chaos-based scatter attack AND a chaos-based rapid-fire shot? Melee builds have to get close in order to kill it, its hit box and movement style are as annoying as those giant mosquitos. If you enjoy "challenging" players with damage types that are hard to mitigate due to item scarcity, then remove the stun buildup on these attacks. Both the scatter and rapid fire attacks do heavy stun buildup, so melee builds that approach these bullet hells with a shield up don't get much protection at all. Chaos resistance is already hard to cap at levels 60 to 70 since it's uncommon in by your design and even when the community already has expressed disgust at the way XP loss is meted, when it's combined with crappy design like this, it just induces anger playing your game. I've asked this before, are anger and frustration the kind of emotions you want your players to feel? Do you really want people to feel that they've wasted their time after each PoE2 game session? If your answer to these questions are "Yes" then I guess there is nothing anyone can say about it. It's what you want after all and it IS your game, right? But please be honest about it. Don't go on interviews or put out dev videos describing a game experience about "meaningful" and "satisfactory" gameplay and push out designed elements like these. These are NOT challenging in any way. The only challenge it presents to players is how to manage the negative emotions this game induces. I mean take this monster. You dodge the beam, you dodge and block through the scatter attack, but when a melee character is close enough to attack, it shoots like a gatling gun and always seems to hit. I've lost 2 bars of hard-won XP due to the placement of the checkpoint and where this monster was spawned before I was able to kill both (yes there were TWO of them) and I'm sure I'll be seeing iterations of this Abyssal rare all league long. Whoever designed it must be happy with their handiwork. If your goal is to make character deaths feel cheap, then you have definitely succeeded.
