The Search quest stopped progression

Had issues breaking forcefield. Reloaded the game fixed that and now after trying to confront Kanu and the first herald I killed him and there was a lag or studder and I died. Once I respawned and went back down to try again the boss flew up and disappeared. I can no longer progress. I've restarted the game, changed zones, manually reloaded zone and anything I can think of but still cannot progress now or confront Kanu and the first herald.

After going and playing on another character for a while I came back to this character and everything started and worked as it should.
