Lich-type omens (guarantee xxx mod) only work on weapons and jewelry

trying to use a omen of sinistral necromancy+omen of of the sovereign on a focus to get +1 number of totem mod and it won't let me.

everyone i asked also assumes it should work.

i attached i picture with a listing from the trade site, with includes what i'm trying to craft.

there has to be either a bug or missing item description/reasoning for why this kind of craft would be impossible.

Regarding this, I was unable to use an omen of the sovereign on a ring earlier today. Is that the correct interaction, or should it have worked?

This absolutely needs to be called out in game whether that be within the item description of the omen or a message before Well of Souls reveal. There is literally no indication that these omens don't work with armour. This is a big oversight.
