Seriously remove the long stun from sprint
I'm gonna start this off by saying I've just reached act 4 & so far there's a lot I like & a lot I don't like, sadly I haven't been to endgame yet so I can't say much for it. For now I want to speak on sprinting & why I love & hate it.
I love sprinting, but man it feels like this is a reoccurring issue where something that slightly improves the experience comes with a major drawback. I don't mean to sound angry BUT WTF IS THAT STUN TIME WHEN YOU GET HIT WHILE SPRINTING!? Like dude, why are we unable to roll away, I get the knockdown as a penalty but why is it like my character fell & broke both of his ankles? It's the same reason I stopped using the rhoa mount, not even souls games punish you THIS hard for getting hit while in a sprint. I really wish they would just add something without it feeling like you're going to get f*cked just for using it. I get that you can attack out of sprint to not get knocked down but I've been in combat situations where I would try to roll multiple times(because enemies are still at 1,000mph) then end up sprinting slightly, get knocked on the ground like a helpless dame in a horror movie & simply succumb to my fate of being dogpiled on by 50 enemies. Like seriously, I'm so sick of this. Why can't they just throw us a bone without jamming a stick up our asses for it? Who at GGG is actually playing the game & deciding on these things? I don't want to sound frustrated because there's a lot of good the game does but fuck man, It's hard to truly let the bad things go when they're so impactful to your gameplay. I love the sprint but a better drawback would've been like you spend mana sources to sprint or that it has a gauge & you just can't sprint for long but to make it a knockdown that then lasts half of a lifetime is(no offense) incompetent. TLDR: Sprinting is amazing, the penalty for sprinting is stupid. Last bumped on Sep 1, 2025, 10:26:38 PM

" Na man...all benefits need a downside. You need something that negates the sprint in a negative way. IDK i just roll again when i see something. |

Don't get me wrong I understand benefits need a downside which is why I mentioned alternative downsides that wouldn't be as punishing. Yet it feels like they just went full on with the disadvantage. Like if you get hit while sprinting, you're almost guaranteed to die due to how long it takes to get back up, that just feels terrible. Surely, they could've came up with something less punishing for simply choosing to sprint.

" yeah i notice the sprint fall isnt as bad with weaker monsters though. I notice with magic/rare its pretty much a death sentence |

Seems decently balanced to me.
Maybe getting back up a bit faster would be nice. Other than that it's really not that difficult to stop sprinting when there's some monsters around. Fight them or roll through and kick into sprint again. |

" No, not everything 'needs' a downside. It's literally just sprinting. It doesn't kill enemies. It doesn't do anything besides make you move faster, which is what everyone wanted anyway; to be able to not feel like an area takes 2 hours because you move like a snail if you don't have MS on boots. "Here you go, here's sprint to help out! Ope, but you can trip! And then you're stunned!" So you got punished for getting something to make the game more enjoyable. What's even better is if you're rolling and you roll too many times too fast, the game thinks you're sprinting and you end up stunned and laying on the ground because the game figured you were sprinting when in reality you were just rolling out of the way of an attack. It feels like every thing GGG gives the playerbase to make it feel more fun, they attach a downside to it. Not everything in the game needs to be a double edged sword. Just roll at the end of your sprint, it gives great mobility,

IMO the real crime was tying the sprint to dodge roll. I'm 100% okay with the current penalty for getting hit while sprinting, My gripe is that in the midst of combat I sometimes hold the dodge button too long, or try to press it again too quickly and I'll go into sprint mode by mistake. Subsequently getting hit, stunned, and killed.
Sure "skill issue" or whatever. It's just annoying when it happens. Last edited by Johnny_Hotbody#4829 on Sep 1, 2025, 10:27:23 PM
