Overall Thoughts After Beating Act IV + Interlude
I like Act IV especially the prison. That was a neat set piece. I like the Interlude acts. They were enjoyable. I didn't try the merchant tab so I can't really discuss about it. I like sprint. It is not a decent stop gap solution to the large maps issues. But, even still you need to boost the base movement speed by at least act II. Just put in a 10%-20% MS boost by act II because the campaign becomes a slog by that point.
I liked that I was able to have 3 charm slots. I played in .1 and beat all the uber pinnacle bosses and was hard stuck at 1 charm. Charms are useful and fun (still not as fun as flasks). Now for the things that I have issues with. Some of it is just small fine tune adjustments like bosses doing a little too much damage. One example of a boss doing too much damage is the Benedictus lighting attack. I was at around 1,100 hp with 50% lit res and I was getting one shot by his lightning spell. It has a large wind up time, but it tracks until the final final moment of the cast time. and the boss will sometimes wait until you dodge roll to shoot the lightning. Act III viper boss doesn't give enough chaos res gear to be able to mitigate attacks. I had to basically get a no hit run going to kill it. Non instant flasks suck. They are always worse than the instant cast flasks in every situation. The campaign is way too long. You need to slap a base increase to MS or you will not get people to come back. I will definitely not come back if the game doesn't get at least 10-20% faster. Or you can cut down the size of the campaign areas and maps, but as I see it right now, every area barring Act I is way too large. PoE1 feels long in the tooth for its campaign and you can speed run it pretty safely in 6 hours. I didn't clock my time in PoE2 this league but it was around 25 hours to clear the campaign. It is extremely large in size. Not just the size of the areas, but also the amount of areas compared to PoE1. I think it is roughly 25-50% more areas compared to PoE1's campaign. I only did a little bit of mapping, but I was doing some T1 Waystones and my starter character (invoker hollow palm) felt way too underpowered at 10k tooltip dps. I will say one very positive thing about the Invoker. I love that addition of Lingering Illusion. It has made power charge generation much easier than .1 and I am enjoying that I can use multiple copies of the same support gem on different stuff. The combo system still makes the game feel very restrictive in terms of player creativity. It may not be the case, but it feels like there is only 1 viable build per character now due to the combo system. I did the first two trials and had no issue with them during this league. They were perfect. But, I haven't played the uber lab yet which was a complete nightmare to play in .1 as a melee class. I play on controller and I loved the new UI for the stashes. It was the single best part of the game. Tala Moana, Exile. Last bumped on Sep 1, 2025, 2:52:49 PM
