POE 2 0.3.0b patch crashing high end pc's
Steam and the Poe 2 discord discussions have confirmed that many RTX 4090 and above graphic card users have been affected the most by crashes and can't play for more than 10 mins before the application shuts down without an error message. Some reported using Event viewer and finding a 1000 error message.
I've also encountered crashes as well on my 4090 but my partner who plays on a 3060 rig has no issues at all. NVIDIA App version: 11.0.5.245 Operating system: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro, Version 10.0.26100 DirectX runtime version: DirectX 12 Driver: Game Ready Driver - 581.15 CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-12900KF RAM: 32.0 GB Storage (4): SSD - 232.9 GB,HDD - 596.2 GB,+2 more Graphics card GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Direct3D feature level: 12_1 Only small fix I found is that cutting off Engine Multi- threading keeps me from crashing but I loose almost all of my fps 120+ down to 30-60 sadly such a nasty trade off. before this O.3.0 update I had no issues like this now i'm watching my CPU push harder than my VRAM, GPU, combined. I'm experiencing some random crash too without any message ever.
It can happen anywhere even when i'm just chilling in town or in my hideout, i tried disabling all my MTX, reinstalling the game and changing server. Here's my config. I'm keeping to have crashes with every graphics setting set to LOW, DLSS deactivated and after switching to Vulkan.

Here the same issue with my NVIDIA RTX 4090 gpu on an Intel i9-13900k with 32GB RAM system.
Constant crashes without any message. Game just stops after a litlle stutter. It can happen on the login screen or a few minutes in game. I am unable to play this way. I tried everything but to no result. Glad to hear others also have these problems. That means it is probably not my system. Last edited by McHuberts#7978 on Aug 31, 2025, 11:41:43 AM

I played for 2 hours without any crash by putting the game to the lowest graphical settings and restarting the game, I feel like some options make the game crash ...

Same issue on AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D Worse if I go into inventory, crashes every time. Unplayable like this will wait for patch.

Same issue as everyone else here.
Game at the moment is borderline unplayable due to the constant crashing. This is happening on both my daughters system which has a nvidia 3060. And also on my main system which has a 9070XT Installed. Both Nvidia and AMD Cards seem to be affected here. Seems as if the new patch hasn't been tested out properly. This should Never have made it to release. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of the crashing as me like many others here i was really enjoying getting back into the new season. When i ssay crashign i mean crashing to the extent that the system locks up completely and you have to hard reboot yuor system. Theres NO WAY i am playignhtis until this has been patche dand fixed. Also what a lot of people have noticed is ther eCPU'S are getting really hot, whether the 2 are related or not i do not know. |

Had the same issue. PC also with 32 GB ram (8x4 sticks).
Removed a pair of 8 GB to still have 16 GB in dual channel mode (2 sticks). After this my game works flawlessly with any configuration I want in the menu for the past 2 days. I also noticed a correlation with shader being build (green shader bar at max for minutes until the game finally crashes my PC). After fix the shader green bar stays on for a few seconds max even after visiting an game area I never been on before (e.g. act 4) My theory is that the game cannot support certain Memory configurations. Either more than 16 GB ram ore more than 2 sticks of memory. Whoever can and has the skills to remove 16 GB of your ram, please test and confirm if it fixes it for you. At least it will give GGG more of a hind of what is actually going on. |

So I just wanted to give a quick update I've been playing with no crashes after cutting off Multi-threading. I also went into my device manager went into system and disabled the high precision event timer. I tried to so many things and nothing worked I hope these two things work for you all. PS: Why is this game using more CPU power and really no Gpu power shouldn't the load be on the graphic cards? |
