Thanks for the free weekend, I hate it so much
4k hours in PoE 1 and after giving up on the first boss I realized I'm probably "playing it wrong."
I imagined what the game would look like on a controller and Hades came to mind. After all, M+KB directional dodge roll has never felt good for me. Then again, playing one of these Diablo-like APRGs on a controller sounds like a joke. I guess the same argument can apply to PoE 1, but I've never had trouble getting 40/40 this way. It seems evident with the 5 minute long boss fights that reset each death that this is the direction they want to go in. I've felt guilty for not trying PoE 2 until now, after all GGG is such a solid game company and I do like supporting them. However I have zero interest in a controller-based diablo-like game. Maybe in a year or so when PoE 2 gets closer to release I'll try it again. I may buy Hades 2 first to try and get in the groove and see how that goes. If anything that miserable 2 hour experience I've just had after that monsterous 110 GB download has made me remember I haven't gotten 100% achievements on Hades yet and now I'm in the mood to try and finish that game. I do hate failing to enjoy a game just because I brought the incorrect mindset, so does all of this make sense? Also has their been any word on the next PoE 1 league? Sounds like a skill issue. Good luck with Hdes 2 though. It's a fun game.

" Of course it makes sense; different players like different things. A game can't appeal to everyone. There's not a single thing I find "more fun" about PoE2 compared to PoE1. Sure, it's better when it comes to the technical side of things, like graphics and sound, but that doesn't necessarily translate to fun after a few hours of gameplay. They made PoE2 a vastly different experience from PoE1. Of course it makes sense that PoE2 doesn't click with a lot of PoE1 players. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" Yeah maybe I'm trying to compare them too much due to the naming convention. I've put off playing it until now because everything they've mentioned sounds like a direct downgrade from PoE1, except for the graphics and sound of course. Here's hoping we can get back to regularly scheduled PoE 1 leagues, but I doubt it. |

" I think PoE1 will be alright. Sure, it's no longer an "only child" and won't get the parent's full attention, but some PoE2 features will bleed into PoE1. If they're professional enough to do what they've said they'll do, that is... When it comes to PoE2, I could probably live with the slow combat, slow pacing and needlessly defined/pre-made classes and builds/skills, but as long as the endgame is directly BAD in every way, and isn't designed for repetitive play AT ALL, I won't start the game up. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
