the game feels to easy now
Replaying the game for the 3rd time, I noticed how much easier it has become.
I attribute this to several causes: 1) There is a good amount of good loot drops now. In act 1 I already found a really good staff, a good leveling unique, good runes and lots of crafting materials. I actually like how the current loot progression with both good drops, powerful runes and options for early crafting feels so far. Relative loot scarcity is gone, even with me not even using most of the options available to acquire loot (I haven't used much crafting, no traders, no gambling, no abyss and chest farming, I ran through maps ignoring most enemies). However that also means that monsters would need to become significantly stronger to make up for the increased player power and I have the impression that hasn't happened. 2) My class - sorceress - might be overtuned. I haven't even specced into much damage in the passive tree, used comfort support gems like increased duration (instead of damage ones) and it still felt really high. Outside the act 1 endboss (and the main reason he survived for a decent time was his extremly aggressive behaviour during his 2nd phase were I didn't found much time to attack him), every boss went down really quickly without me seeing much of their attack patterns. There seem to be combos like: double orb of storm triggered very quickly by ember fussilade due to its low cast time. The orb of storm procs very often and provides the lightning infusion for an empowered ember fussilade. Furthermore all those little projectiles can fly through a flamewall for even more damage bonus. One can also add frostbomb to debuff the bosses elemental resistance and generate an infusion to buff the flamewall. It's really cool that sorceress has so many available early game combos now, but I have the impression its overtuned in the hands of a good player - at least early game (since I haven't reached the later acts so far). With the current tuning as a sorceress I would say act 1 bosses and mini-bosses need +100% health across the board and some that die particulary quickly could get +200% to +300%. 3) I have become a more experienced player. Maybe someone playing through the campaign for the 3rd time shouldn't have to play on the same difficulty level as someone playing it for the first time. There could be something like a challenge mode campaign that is significantly harder. That would more repeated playthroughs more exciting. 4) Maybe act 1 is intended to be easier than other acts - lets see how the later acts play. As contrasting point I would like to mention that there are still some dangerous boss attacks, abyss monster swarms and damage over time puddles that can pose a serious threat if not properly dealt with. I even found Lord Geonors 2nd phase to be overtuned in terms of his aggressiveness (if I imagine myself being a new player encountering him - finding no room to breath). I too noticed a significant act 1 challenge decrease. I've face rolled basically every boss, with white/blue gear.
Trying to figure out if it's a .3 thing or happened on another patch. I really hope the rest of the game isn't like this or I won't get to act 4. Doing Witch minions. |

no it doesnt to me im level 17 with level 8 gear and alot of blue gear the gear farming of doing same zone over and over again yes its ez but its painful in its own way

Play anything melee and you will have another impression. This League is going to be like the first one, all sorcs.

Game feels too easy right now and it has a lot to do with player damage, things just die before doing anything and it's the best tactic right now, it's just ehhh... On the other hand, playing melee makes you significantly more exposed to dying and lot of these abyss monster mechanics feel like designed to make melee life even worse while ranged classes don't even need to care about it, like sudden puddles or dots just for you close range. At least make it hard for everybody and also bump up enemies life. /Edit - The Geonor phase with fog and monsters is just cheap right now, as he attacks chaotically instead between his voice lines, it's kinda anticlimactic now. acts now get progressively "harder" instead of act 1 being the "hardest" thing in the entire game aside from pinnacle content. (nothing in an arpg has ever been "hard" lol. dont stand in shit & dont het hit by the massively telegraphed 1shots. game solved.) it is now how it should be. if you want a harder time in campaign for whatever reason thats fine. absolutely nothing is stopping you from NOT metagaming your way through it. nothing in the campaign was ever super difficult to begin with, it was just a slow trudge through bullshit and almost nobody liked it. it feels much more reasonable in 0.3. that 'slog' is notably less prevalent. now that campaign seems to be scaling properly i hope to see the difficulty progression through atlas tiers get more defined. the difference between tiers 1-5, 5-10 ect basically doesnt exist. the jump(s) in difficulty should be raised a bit in this area. " Witch minions has always faced-rolled all content and most likely always will. Minions is just an incredibly safe playstyle where you get low risk high reward, it's hard to make it challenging without making it feel shit to play. |

I just finished Act 1 as Witch minion/chaos
I've played every league start as Witch minion, so I more or less know how it was day 1 of PoE 2. It is not the class. The game is so easy it isn't fun anymore. Geonor died doing just 1 "circle" phase. I used to love that fight, now I don't even get to experience the whole mechanic and thrill as it is too easy and done in 1min. Lachlan? Oh my god, that's just a big punching instead of scary boss I used to love. Everything has been made so easy it is not enjoyable anymore. Stop the PoE 1 zoom-zoom crap for kids, please. Combat is fun. Rolling over everything isn't. Keep the PoE 2 as far from PoE 1 as possible. |

My experience so far is that I’ve had really low damage, even with decent gear and all skill tree specialised into damage.
