3rd spectre ate corpse but didn't summon spectre

So after debating on and off for a while decided to bite the bullet and buy a perfect guardian turtle off pathofxile.com/trade and grab the oil to annoint.

Then proceeded to annoint amulet with Death Attunement(for the +1 spectre) before proceeding to create the corpse(right click turtle) and summon the spectre. Except that it ate the corpse and still has me at 2 spectres and didn't raise the turtle.

Any idea what I did wrong? Have played minions a few times before and this is the first time this has happened and while it's not a crazy amount of currency gone but it still stings some.

Yep forgot to mention took off the weapon first before trying to summon the spectre.
