+1 all resists or spell suppression?

I know this is pretty much impossible to answer but some time ago i saw how much a measly 1 % all resist gave for defense and it was quite amazing.
So my question is +1 all resists or Inveterate?
Inveterate gives "prevent +3% of suppressed spell damage" and +15% chance to suppress spell damage.
Thanks for any answers - i suspect no one is a winner here but who knows?
This game is just way too complicated.

Most people will likely tell you SS is better. It's effect is overall higher but it just applies to spells so the question boils down to whether you are more worried about spells or attacks. As a rule of thumb i'd say if you are focused on doing ubers go for SS, if you care more about farming t17 go for max res. If you don't plan on doing either it honestly doesn't matter which because the content is trivial.

It's build dependent. Neither is universally better, but I'm going to say in general the Inveterate will be better. Max res is useful the higher you can get it. So, if its's getting you from 75 to 76 its probably not that big a deal, but if you're going for 89 to 90 it's going to good. Depends on many factors, like the content you are facing, if you have spell block, etc.

If inveterate brings you to 100% ss its better. Is it your only source of ss take the max resistance.

Since your character already has significantly raised max res (87/85/86 with flasks, from what I can tell) I think you should go for the +1 max res.

I'm curious though, at which point do you have to decide between those 2 exact choices? If it is an anoint you're looking for, you could even go for +2 max res (Nomadic Teachings).
Thanks for the replies guys - appreciated.
My aim is to get to lvl 100 doing "tougher" but not 8 mod T16 maps.
T17 maps are a bit beyond me and forget about the T17 bosses.
I find every now and then i get 1 hit and have no idea what it is that kills me but i suspect that is the same for most players.
Ultimate aim with this build is a mage blood with a melding but that is a long way off unless i get very lucky.
I am a senior player so need all the defenses i can get - bit slow.
Good luck on your lvl 100 journey, exile! I did it last league for the first time. Farming Breach for Chayula breachstones, Synth maps and Harvest with the Bountiful Harvest Atlas tree node got me there. All on pretty tame T16s, getting a little over 1% XP progression per map, and little boosts whenever I did Breachstones and Synth maps. Slow and steady and all that... :D
just +1 all resist doesn't do that much tbh spell supress has a chance to lower the damage you take by 50%. With that said there are situations where +1 all resist would be better but those are fairly small part of the game.

One of those situations would be if your often running maps with phys as extra elemental damage and are a melee build.

Looked at your character and the fire node at witch with fire pen is what I would have gone with a node that gives "more" damage is hard to pass up. Also you could have easily just took a life node and have had similar results as a defensive node.
