Does Using Orb of Chance keep item sockets/links?

With the coming change to get better results with jewelers/fusing on quality items, I was wondering if it is possible to get roll a 6L white item and then use an orb of chance to get a unique? Will using the orb of chance change the sockets? Will usign a scouring orb change the sockets? I will be trying to chance the more 'common' uniques if the sockets stay the same. Thanks for the help!

Chance Orbs do not affect the sockets in any way.
Orbs that alter Mods are a completely separate entity to Orbs that alter Sockets. |

chance orbs used on glorious plates remove the sockets miraculously

The only two exceptions to what Cronk posted are Kaom's Heart and Tabula Rasa, which each have their own special hidden mods in regards to the number/type of sockets.
