Action Speed Slow
Is there a reason Action Speed slowing effects are in the game, and why does only 1 ascendancy have a way to deal with it?

There isn't. Juggernaut and Trickster both (have more or less) Action Speed Slow immunity. So does Kaom's Roots. There is also Temp Chains Balance of Terror. But, yes, there should be more.

As to why there are in the game, other than slowing mechanics being very common in ARPGs in general, that's a question only GGG can answer.
But there are many more tools to deal with them, at least if you take the most common ones: Temp. Chains, chill and freeze. For these there are many options like Panthon, flasks, passive tree nodes etc. The more specific ones like certain boss abilities are harder to deal with. One option that hasn't been mentioned is a Merc or AG with Garb of the Ephemeral. Obviously especially useful this league. Not cheap, but also target farmable if you don't mind running Cortex for a bit. |

" I agree. The whole point with mods/stats like reduced action speed is for the game to post a problem for you to "solve". When it can't be solved (on 'most' archetypes), it feels bad. But binary (either/or) solution are just... Stupid in my opinion (read: ailment immunity, corrupting blood immunity and so on). Ascendancies having those is OK, as it creates an identity, but for the rest, it should be mitigating solutions. A problem shouldn't be so severe that the solution is either/or. Just my two kroner. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" The merc is just valid if its something that attacks melee or your range character has no weapon on. My experience was most of the time a range character is not as often next to you as you would like. Ofc there is the Convocation skill to teleport them to you but has a bigger cd time for its usage so yeah didn´t feel the best tbh. |

" Interesting. My character and merc are both ranged(-ish) so I'm usually in her presence radius and it works well. But sure, if char and merc are on opposite ends of the melee/ranged spectrum, then this might not work most of the time. AG with meat shield should work in most circumstances. Of course this costs sockets which are usually in short supply, plus possibly more investment to keep AG alive... |

" Right my bad, forgot to mention I´m melee while my merc is range. But even without her Weapon if your merc has a curse for example and you have to apply your own curse manually then you run into similar scenarios where you are not next to eacht other.
