Screen/UI Flickering causing image retention
UPDATE : After some time and research, it appears I am experiencing 'image retention' as opposed to burn in. The good news is this is temporary, as the burnt in image has slowly faded over the past few hours (it is still visible, though I feel assured it will be gone tomorrow, if I don't play again...) It is still upsetting that playing path of exile right now will temporarily damage my monitor for the following day.
After the screen flickering issue being particularly bad last night, I woke up this morning to find the path of exile UI burned into my monitor. I have updated display drivers, rolled back display drivers, tried the other display port on my GPU, swapped for a new display port cable, and nothing has helped. I am quite convinced that the screen flickering issue has now permanently damaged my monitor. It is not an OLED monitor nor prone to burn in, and this is the first monitor I have ever had experience burn in damage. The game was never paused for extended periods of time, so it is mostly UI elements that burned into my screen.
