Technical Support (Path of Exile 1) - Validating files on startup - Forum

Hey there, I recently had this problem with poe where I started the game and it said that there was a new "patch" (there wasn't) and when I quit the game and tried starting it again on steam it would start validating files. It does that on every startup after this happens. I am able to play when it finishes, but the validating takes 10 minutes. Now previously I managed to stop this by reinstalling to a different drive and putting it back, but this takes an hour to do and is super impractical. It was fine for about 2 weeks but now it started doing it again. Is there any fix for this problem? After the last patch (14/07/25) when I press log in button, a message appears saying that there is a patch to download… but it seems stuck in a loop.
