Settings Reset

Hello, my settings reset every time I restart/open path of exile through steam. I assume it's read-write issue with whatever folder the settings are stored into, but I cannot figure it out. Help, please.

Win10, Win11, macOS 15?

The settings you're changing will be stored in the production_Config.ini file.


By default, on macOS you can find it in;

~/Library/Application Support/Path of Exile/Preferences


On Windows, by default it will be here;

%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile

(You should be able to copy & paste that right into File Explorer's address bar.)


You can manually alter the file while the game client isn't running if you're not interested in trying to troubleshoot permissions issues preventing the client from saving the changes.

Windows 11 - when I copied the path it shows it in OneDrive. How do I move it back onto my PC?

Oh, that'd explain it...

You should be able to open OneDrive, go into it's Settings, and disable Backup for the Documents directory.

It's saying that it won't let me unsync the folders because theya re important to my PC.

Is it possible to get a screenshot?

I got it by unlinking the onedrive with my pc and it's working now, thank you! Been doing this for over 3 weeks hahaha.

Good job for getting to the bottom of if. I hadn't thought of OneDrive at all.
