Infinite Hunger = Infinite Tentacle Phase?

Hi.

Is the Infinite Hunger Fight broken or something? I've been playing for a long time but this is the first league I actually manage to go endgame. Weird, I know. Guess it's because playing glasscannon in SSFHC giving me the thrills I crave.

That being said - I am currently stuck with the Writhing Invitation. Iirc, the Infinite Hunger used to go invulnerable and pop out of the phase either when some time elapsed or when touched. Now, playing a true glasscannon, touching is no option. But no matter how long I wait, he will never pop out of invulnerability phase. Absolutely never, I kited him for like 10 minutes out of stubbornness: nothing. Am I missing something?
