Path of Exile 2: GGG Sacrificed Its Community for PoE 1 It’s Time to Demand Answers

GGG: The Weekend That Broke the Trust of PoE 2 Players

The weekend of June 13–15, 2025, exposed a deep flaw in how Grinding Gear Games is handling the coexistence of Path of Exile 1 and Path of Exile 2. For PoE 2 players, it was supposed to be a normal weekend no league launch, no major update just time to enjoy the game we paid to access.

Instead, we got unplayable lag, constant disconnects, and total instability. And the worst part? It wasn’t even caused by anything related to PoE 2. It was the launch of a new league in PoE 1 that completely overwhelmed the servers, dragging the entire experience down with it.

Let’s be very clear: PoE 2 players were collateral damage, sacrificed for the sake of PoE 1's continued spotlight.

1. PoE 2 players caught in the crossfire
This wasn’t a special event for PoE 2. It was just a weekend which for many of us is the only time we can play. But GGG failed to separate server resources, and PoE 2 became unplayable for thousands.

A product we paid for clearly sold as early access was made useless by activity from a completely different game. That’s unacceptable.

2. A second-class community
Let’s be honest: PoE 2 players have been treated like background noise. GGG made it clear: they chose to protect PoE 1's experience, even if it meant PoE 2 had to suffer.
We’re not free-to-play users. We are paying customers, and we deserve stability, transparency, and respect.

3. The deafening silence
All weekend long, GGG stayed mostly silent. No detailed messages. No apology. No plan.
In a moment of real frustration for the community, they gave us nothing. That silence speaks louder than any dev blog could.

4. The problem no one wants to say out loud

Many content creators won’t talk about this and we all know why. Early access, sponsorships, fear of backlash... it creates a bubble around GGG where criticism becomes taboo.

But I’m not afraid to speak
.

I’m PixHellFusion, and I’m the only content creator on YouTube who’s talking honestly and publicly about this situation.
I don’t owe GGG anything I paid for PoE 2, and as a paying player, I have the right to say when things aren’t acceptable.

What GGG must do now:

Publicly apologize to PoE 2 players

Explain how server resources are managed between PoE 1 and PoE 2

Technically separate both games, so one doesn’t impact the other

Communicate clearly and regularly, especially when problems occur

Final thoughts:
This wasn’t a stress test or a major patch day. This was just a regular weekend. Yet PoE 2 players were pushed aside, ignored, and left with nothing but lag and silence.

And no GGG’s opinion isn’t needed right now (a direct reference to their infamous "we don't care about your opinion" toward the speedrunning community). What we want is action. Transparency. And accountability.

We didn’t pay to be ignored.
We didn’t pay to be sidelined.
We paid to play
.

GGG, it’s time you started acting like it.

yes.

+ they already banned me here 3 times (1d + 3d + 7d), because I pointed servers INSTABILITY.

SSF player✔️
ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?
I want to add +1, but I don't want to get in trouble by GGG if this is a topic we aren't allowed to give feedback on.

Can I give a fear vote of +0.5 and sidestep being in trouble for giving feedback about servers needing to be prioritized? If so, here's my +0.5, I just dont want to get banned for voicing an opinion in a forum where they ask us to voice our opinion is all.

They aren't banning you because of your fingerpointing, but how you communicate. If you hadn't noticed.

You paid to be able to play a beta. You are entitled to nothing.
This is the most entitled post I've seen. They should support PoE1. I've never played PoE1 but the support they give towards it gives me hope that PoE2 will receive the same iterative development, support, and love.

PoE2 is kinda a shiny pile of poop with some bits of gold sprinkled in it as it currently stands. However, the support for PoE1 gives me hope it won't always be.

You on the other hand are a content creator sowing discourse and shamelessly plugging yourself for views.

I say what I think, and I think what I say.
The policy of my channel, and my mindset as a former QA on countless games, is to share my experience in good faith.

If you’d rather support creators who always stroke the devs in the right direction, there are more than enough of them on YouTube.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve tackled a topic out of honesty and transparency, fully aware it would get very few views.

This is my mantra, my bushido:
to act with honor and generosity every single day.
I live by the truth, hoping to earn respect — not attention.

Money and views might be your way of thinking not mine.
I’ll keep speaking out loud and clear about the things others stay silent on, out of fear of losing their privileges.

Keep your prejudice to yourself.

The fact that the game is in beta doesn’t justify the lack of communication or seriousness in its development.
A harsh negative critique can be just as valuable as constant positive feedback.

They could silently abandon the game and yet you'd be entitled to nothing.

There ya go. I anticipate/look forward to the response describing how that isn't enough/doesn't count.
