What if More/Less was changed to a 'Multiplier' format instead?

To clarify, it would still be the exact same functionality as before. However, one of the most common pitfalls new players kept falling into in PoE1 was apparently not knowing that More/Less (multiplicative) and Increased/Reduced (additive) were meant to be distinct. If PoE2's goal is to give new players a more intuitive understanding of its systems, changing the presentation (but not necessarily the calculation) would help to visually distinguish the numeric interactions better.
Examples: - A slam with an Ancestral Boost provides that slam 30% more damage (1.3x damage multiplier) and 20% more area of effect (1.2x AoE multiplier) - When supporting a skill with Deadly Poison, the skill deals 25% less damage with hits (0.75x hit damage multiplier) but has 75% more poison magnitude (1.75x poison magnitude multiplier) - A curse supported by Heightened Curse gains 25% increased magnitude... and since this actually is an increase, its format remains the same. Considering how big Balatro got, I highly doubt that people would struggle with multipliers more than... well, More/Less. Last bumped on May 19, 2025, 6:52:45 PM
