Uniques are a collection of useless garbage

I am playing at lvl 94, ssf. I am yet to find a single unique that is worth equipping. Gostwrithe Tattered Robe actually was good in 0.1 but, of course, it got nerfed to make sure no one wants that either.

I have now spent countless hours attempting to make so much as one of these pieces of shit work with my character, to the point that GGG easily now owes me a level. No Unique permutation works better than even my the modest assembly of just regular rare items. And I do have the Ingenuity belt, btw. So what? Its useful bonuses (nerfed, of course) now are too weak to make a difference and the loss of resists on it breaks my defensive setup. And I had to kill one of the the Pinnacle Bosses to get this piece of trash!

Let's take another item as an example. How about Ventor's Gamble Gold Ring, an item that has fully 6 stats that fluctuate between A) utter shit and B) something resembling useful at 50% (1/2) probability each. Let's do the math on as to how many Divine orbs it would take (on average) to make this item fall into category B: 1/2^6=1/64 --> 64 DIVINE ORBS. Just one problem: PoE2 does not bother to drop Divine Orbs. Who did the math on this before they dumped it into the game!? And even were I to get this ring's stats to something resembling okay, I would still be losing the direct damage bonus which I have on my current ring. Wow! What return on my investment! Fekk this item! Ventor is welcome to take a long walk off a short peer on a stormy night and lob his stupid ass into shark infested waters, as far as I am concerned.

My Uniques inventories (yes, I have two tabs for those) are fully laiden with absolute trash! Oh, and as a cherry on top of the pie, the amount of Unique items which I have gotten from upgrading Heavy Belts using Orbs of Chance is zero -- precisely 0 -- after 94 levels of play! Zero! And that's about what I am going to rate the current Uniques system in the game. Zero!

This is funny cause my build works best with 2 ventors + ingenuity (even after nerf).

You don't divine ventors, you reforge them until a good one pops.

Getting a HH from a chance orb is like 1:2000-4000 chance so thats kinda the expected result.

They call them 'uniques' and not legendaries because that's all they are- an item with something that makes them unique when compared to normal/magic/rare items.

Per your own admission you just upped the odds from 64 Divines required on average to 192 Ventor's rings instead. Well done you.
Just because you represent an outlier occurrence does not mean that statistics or probabilities no longer apply. Did you buy your Ventor's rings on the trade market or did you honestly earn 192 of them in ssf play?

The way I see it for Uniques is they give (usually) one OP power/perk and one SHIT curse/tradeoff or..or...it's just mediacore to slightly better than the best rare for your level and equip slot.

I mean take for instance a chest piece I wear on my Lvl 35 Lich still and don't see anytime soon swapping out.

This allows me 263 Spirit with my other gear at 35!!!

Still have 150 Shield and I stack Armor and wear an off hand Shield to offset the crappy above Shield.

I mean I cannot see a build I like, not having this much Spirit or more for such a tradeoff overall. Maybe in 20 or 30 levels if a Rare or some other Unique can maintain such a build.

I run 3 Spirit Cost Spectre Rares at 70-100 per Spectre at 35!! I roll right through everything so far.

I guess the short is some of these Uniques seem to beg you to build around the gear and hopefully not be cookie cutting, min/maxing because the Unique is just not "perfect".

Nameless seer gave 1 perfect for me, chanced 1 that was good enough, later on bought some for getting a good corrupt. Ventors doesn't need to get average or above average rolls on every mod to be good
