Feedback on Tactician's Unleash Hell/Supporting Fire
I think you guys gotta rethink this skill completely, it just doesn't function right now.
It's a minion skill, so your own damage doesn't affect it. The minions are off-screen, so aura/presence bonuses don't affect it. It's got an insane cooldown that you have few nodes to reduce, and doesn't benefit from your general cooldown nodes near the mercenary's starting position. The minion nodes require like 20+ points to get to, and basically brick your build otherwise. I just don't really know what it's supposed to do that something like Siege Cascade doesn't do a million times better. Suggestion Change it to a persistent buff meta skill that casts on critical hit, and either counts as your own attack or otherwise open up how to scale the damage without having to burn 20+ points on the passive tree. Maybe make it so projectile nodes affect it at least? If you turn it into a cast on crit self-skill then you basically have a nice "clear" ability that you can scale with your own damage, using the nodes near the merc starting point, and would also benefit from the other pin ascendancy nodes. its a classic noob trap. For some reason game devs love having those. The unaware gamer picks it up thinking itll be fun and spends hours making it work, just to try Lightning Spear once and then thinking, WTF was i doing with that garbage skill. LOL

I'm stuck at the same problem. I tried to use it as a support skill with armour break or pin, but the damage is that low I couldn't make it work.
Btw, my tactician is all about companions and i have a lot of presence radius increased, banner, etc. The skill just doesn't work, the minion nodes are too far away (they removed minion nodes in the Str/dex area and replaced with banner nodes in 0.2) |

I actually made a third character to try this, specifically, and it was reallly frustratingly bad.
I luckily didn't go for it early cuz the cooldown looked ridiculous, and I figured maybe I can build into it after I get some gear/funds, but even with a 10d budget there's really nothing to do with it since the way it scales is so horribly limiting and the tree is just not at all made for it from where merc starts. |
