Idea for improving movement, rarity, mana and attributes

Problems:
- movement speed on boots makes it a mandatory stat to have, invalidating all boots without it - rarity on gear feels arbitrary and takes up valuable spots for other mods - mana management can be tough right now, levelling up skills can make the build feel worse as a result - attribute requirements are pretty tough aswell to a point that it kills the fun for a lot of players Proposal: - remove movement speed and rarity from gear. This will immediately make dealing with mana regen and attributes fitting feel better because there is more space for relevant mods on gear - make movement speed and rarity mods that can roll on relics instead. This will give additional purpose to the trials and there will be a good sense of progression via ascendancies - since lot of people hate Trial of Sekhemas and some builds would be at a severe disadvantage relic locker space should grow regardless of the method of ascendancy and relics should perhaps drop in other trials aswell - additionally the relic locker itself could be enhanced by giving it different tabs for different setups (honour focussed, movement focussed, magic find). it sounds like you're proposing that increased movement speed and rarity stats only be available via relics while running Trial of Sekhemas which would be a terrible change. unless you forgot to include the part in your proposal where trials relics could be equip-able on your character at all times. i don't think that would ever get added either due to the potentially massive defensive buffs they can provide
I do agree that these stats taking up an affix slot on gear isn't ideal, but it's a game of give and take. Sacrifice one good thing for another good thing. |

" Yes the relics buff for movement and rarity would apply at all times, replacing the current system of on gear mods. You are right that having all relics buffs apply at all times would be OP. That's not the intention of my idea. Just streamlining some systems and solving a few issues that are difficult to balance with the current ones. One potential issue would be to only get movement speed bonuses after ascending and finding relics with buffs. Maybe movment speed by default could be increased to +20 and the relics buffs would only have small/modest gains each. |
