Inconsistent and misleading # Monster(s) Remaining count in Desert Spring

Up until killing the boss the count can be 4, 5, or 6 enemies, making it very hard to tell if you've cleared the monster packs in the main area. When clearing the long section of scorpions the count will fall to 1.

The reason I'm posting this is it's troublesome ensuring you've fully cleared the map for the Nameless Seer to show up. I know he cannot appear after the initial encounter with the boss.
