Svalinn and Cast on Block difficult to use

I'm playing a Warbringer, and I got Svalinn recently. The low armour value on the shield makes it quite bad with shield skills like Magma Barrier and Shield Charge.

Cast on Block requires 97 Int, which was a stretch for me to get to with my build, and up until now I have not really used spells at all. When I tried it for a while, they were remarkably weak.

Svalin’s key feature is the lucky block chance which elevates the chance to block significantly. The fact it has low armour and/or cast on block is not great are things GGG are unlikely to change as the shield is powerful as already designed.

The Warbringer Turtle Charm ascendancy allows you to block hits without your shield being raised, meaning you can apply Svalin’s elevated block chance to all hits all the time. The combination is very tanky.
