Untainted paradise quill crab are too strong

You have a pack of 15 of them and they non stop barrage you with ice shards. The cooldown is almost non existent. It's alright if you play range, but you can't melee them and there's too many in the map. A single magic pack can ruin your entire map.

I'll take the volatile plants and 0% chaos res any day over that, at least i can evade that and it gives me time to attack.

I agree.
i learn to fight them, a syncronized dodge roll gives chance to avade if you manage to syncronize right time, still annoying tho.

I just mentioned this as well in a post today.
Go Thorns w/ the unique helm and laugh as they stunlock/kill themselves
Agree. It's particularly devious to put them in untainted paradise where you often can't see them charging up their attack because the map terrain often hides them in the narrow middle sections as other monsters block your movement. Their damage shreds a 10k es character in less than a second.
+1. Super annoying even in campaign. It's like playing poe1. What tactical, if you have no window to attack and they will freeze for few seconds - which means certain death
I have found a few things to focus on for beating these guys.

Any white shield on the ground in weapon swap works, or just use one in your build and hold it up while you close the gap: https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Raise_Shield
Also, shield charge, shield wall, resonating shield, etc.

They can't hit you if you have some evasion, or at least they won't ALL hit you: https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Evasion

They won't freeze or chill you if you have higher elemental ailment threshold: https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Ailment

If you're pure int against these guys, probably need some sort of buffer dmg reduction like % damage taken from mana before life and some recoup and ES as ailment threshold and just focus them down - don't need to close a gap when you can drop a comet, storm, or chain some lightning on them. With some dodge rolling it mostly comes down to "don't get hit".
