Auto aiming getting stuck and not switching on to what I aim

Auto aiming is getting stuck and not switching to what I aim.
So the description would be, I am aiming left, but auto aim is still firing down where my old target was, or something to that nature. I don't know why it won't follow the cursor, it just gets stuck.
Mostly hitting nothing.
