Get rid of the shards.

I'm about as casual as it gets. My wife and I just hit act 3 since Dawn of the Hunt released. I love this game, I absolutely love it. However, everyone is correct that the crafting system sucks. Why you don't want us having more deterministic crafting is beyond me. I'm guessing it's because since you have a true random drop system, deterministic crafting makes it to where nothing would ever drop that's better than what you crafted. Fine, if that's what ya want then fine. The problem with this though is not enough currency is dropping. You also don't want showers of loot filling the screen. I agree with this, however, not enough currency is dropping to having your gambling crafting system be satisfying. So how do we solve this problem needing more currency, yet not wanting more drops. Well, to start, maybe stop giving us 1-2 regal shards for breaking down a rare we're not going to use and give us and actual regal orb we can use. Makes sense seeing as how you'd essentially be trading a rare for a rare.

Then if after you do that and you realize it was such a smart idea, you'll take the next step and have magic items get 3 attributes before needing to be upgraded with a regal orb, which increases the odds someone will switch out a rare piece of gear with a magic item.(aint no one, especially your average player that doesn't have in depth knowlege of the game, going to swtich out their rare with 4 attributes, with a magic item with 2) especially when they know it will be 2 hours before they will get an orb to drop for them to upgrade it.

Then maybe after that, you'll go this guy really saved our bacon there. Maybe we should make it to where you can play couch co-op on two separate accounts at the same time.

Overall, you guys are doing a great job. I'm just tired of seeing 50+ orbs of augment, 50+ orbs of transmutation, then 0 regal orbs, 1-2 exalts I can't use, and half my gear being stuck at magic rarity. That's without taking into account that I do have a build I'm trying to make, so not only do I need to upgrade them. I need them to roll with stats I can use. So please, get rid of the shards, and let me craft.

With the latest changes there are a lot more rares dropping, so you should start seeing more Shards that'd turn into Regal Orbs.

Also, once you get to Cruel, you can use the Stack exchange to trade one of your exalts for some Regals.

I do think requiring to find 10 rares and disenchanting all of them might be too much. Maybe it could be reduced to 5 shards.

Edit: Also maybe Greater Essences are too rate? If greater essences were less rare, they could sub-in for Regal Orbs just fine.

This is the important part right here GGG.

I appreciate that you 'buffed' loot in the last patch, it is obvious when playing, HOWEVER, you only really buffed chances overall of seeing a few extra rare items, in the big picture of things.

This is EXACTLY what is entirely wrong with this game atm. You either want us to engage in the 'rng' crafting, or you want us to trade all of our currency to RMT / Price fixers for upgrades. Which is it? Because if it is intended for us to engage in the RNG Craft, then raise these pathetic currency rates ALOT! And, i agree, at this stage, regal shards are a fucking joke. I dare say, you could change it so that blues DE for a regal orb, and people would still not be getting quite what they need all that too fast. lol, its really that bad of RNG.

Not only RNG, but weighted so goddam heavily, with absolutely useless mods that have no place being in the game, interact with nothing, no mechanical purpose, other then to dilute and screw peoples 'RNG' over. Light radius... ROFL. Cmon guys, that hasnt actually been used for any mechanic, since D1. Even D2 didnt do shit with it, on a mechanics level. Though, to be fair to D2, it did have a day / night cycle and other things planned around that system that just never made it into final cuts, so maybe it could have seen that light radius put to use...

For the record, i am currently in HC-SSF, so there is no trading, which i am fine with, and im fine with drop rates being the same for everyone no matter what mode chosen etc... but, the rates in general, are indeed to damn low for any normal person to (i use this word loosely, cause its a joke) 'craft', in this game.
GGG - Why you no?
