Since GGG and some uber players will keep it around how about a simple compromise.
Make it start after 90 instead of 70. Let more people that SUCK like me actually feel what our chars can be... 90 to 100 is unobtanium for 99% of normal people and STILL would be. Please both parties. Last bumped on May 4, 2025, 8:48:41 AM

THE xp LOSS IS pure shit::: UNLESS YOU HAVE SOME UP META crap build you cant progress and make the game your own.

For me the experience loss is an absolute identity feature of the game. I would hate it if they remove it. It makes getting a level more special, to get skill points more special, it makes you to think about your defenses and not going all out offensive play.
Its a distinct feature that separates the game from other arpgs. And I dont want them to be all equal. There are omens that help already, this alone makes it already easier to level than in poe1. I want to keep that feature really bad. If there ever would be apoint of agreement, that the xp loss should start on a higher level, than I think the least acceptable point is level 80. Regular maps go until level 79 without modifiers. That would be kinda an acceptable point from my more hardcore view. And still, I hope they dont make any change to that, sorry ;). And to the post before, you dont need anything near "meta" to not die. Just keep improving, learn monster patterns, learn what you can skill, what gems you can use, you can learn every day in this beautiful game. And you can improve really every build to level forward. My solution would be:
No xp los but from level 90+ the increase is logarithmic so everyone finds their level that they consider the build to be finished naturally. Someone who nolifes the game can push for another 1-2 levels. Also from level 90 something else starts to get levelled to keep motivation and some systems alive. Perhaps level of enemies for more risk/reward instead of waystone system with T-16 etc. |
