No Nexus boss, no points but maps are cleansed

Just made the Vaal Foundry map. It was a Nexus map. After killing the map boss I was teleported out of the arena. There was no Nexus boss and I got no atlas points. Maps around nexus are cleansed now.
It was the Tier 9 quest. Next one is still Tier 9

Had the same once because I died to the map boss and the map was reset before next attempt. Nexus boss didn't spawn then. Maybe same thing happened here? I, for whatever reason, thought this was intended.
