Ascendancy points missing

Hello,

I completed the 3rd Ascendancy and forgot to click on the altar. I clicked directly on the portal and didn't receive the 5th and 6th Ascendancy points. I repeated the entire trial and clicked on the altar this time - but I still didn't receive any points. I found several suggestions and fixes online, but none of them worked - so is this a bug? The game should have a mechanic that accounts for this - according to the forums, it's a very common issue.
