steamdeck- occasionally cant pick up items on ground

Sometimes while playing I cannot pick up items off of the ground whilst on steam deck, this is a new issue (I've been playing on the deck since launch.)
If i hover over an item, the a button to pick up just doesnt appear and I'm unable to interact with anything until I relog.
