Does the Infinite Retries of Pinnacle Bosses Not Apply to Simulacrum?
|
I've done so many maps trying to get my first Simulacrum. Finally got the 300 splinters and got annihilated on Wave 12/15.
Constant mini-stuns make me unable to attack back, roll out of the swarm of enemies around me, avoid the double boss attacks shooting everywhere. I even have two stun Charms equipped since I always die to enemies leaping at me from off screen and stunning me, but it makes 0 difference. Respawn and I'm literally already in the mob, instantly die. At least I don't lose XP. Respawn again mashing my attack/dodge buttons just trying to get a single shot out before the enemies all pounce and perma-stun me, doesn't work, die again. Do this 6 times and get booted back to Hideout. I'm stunned IRL now. This was my first Simulacrum ever, I thought the patch notes said these pinnacle encounters got infinite retries at difficulty 0? Now I have a quest to finish the simulacrum and my 1 key I earned after 162 hours is gone. I'm a pretty stark defender of this game because I genuinely enjoy the slower gameplay of this over PoE1, so what the heck is with this encounter (and Delirium in general) being so insanely hyper speed die in 2 seconds to swarm of stunning enemies and why did I get booted back to town instead of being able to try as hard as I could to scrape out a win since I'm probably never going to be able to do more than Difficulty 0? Well in 0.1 if you died once you would lose everything. So that is an improvement to where it was
I think in simulacrum you get 6 retries. If you can't beat it in 6 tries then you might need to rework something. I died one time of the 15th trial by a mistake I made. |
