Enemy range is too far

Seems to me like lots of enemy spellcasters can target the player from off screen. Like the lost-men zealots and all the wraiths. Wraiths are some of the most bs enemies, their kinda teleportation moves are completely bs. Especially in sekhema lvl4

Getting aggroed from off screen is one of the things that has pissed me off most in this season. Coupled with the super dense pack size there is often no room to breathe or change of pace. You can clear whole screen with lighting spear and still you have two dozen mobs landing in your face the next moment. Makes for a very stressful gaming situation. Dont know about others but personally i play this kind of game in an attempt to relax after work.
Agreed.

With standard resolution the top and bottom of the player's screen directly above and below the player's character is about 8m away, while the corners are about 12m away.

In general most enemy AI shouldn't be able to use ranged attacks against you from further away than 8m due to the player's vision limitations. Such a change would do wonders for the feel of combat.
Would be nice if we could zoom out more.

I am tried of getting one shotted by a white off screen that can target me and I can't even see it

I feel 0.2 is just broke in so many ways, its not fun

Exactly this. That's the source of all these infamous one-shots from nowhere.
Hence Priests of the Sun with their laser beams from off-screen that last like 15-20 seconds. Or a group of porcupines that shoot like 3-5 projectiles each which makes a rain of projectiles, targeting you from like 2 screens ahead....
The thing is, if I can't see, I can't defend.
I feel the issue here is that its not range per se that is the problem.

I am sure the devs felt the range they designed things was adequate.

Problem comes that because this gameplay is a lot more tactical and defensive, there's plenty of times where you ll move forward and be forced to dodge or move backwards.

In that second where you walked forward you triggered the enemy sun priest without even noticing because you run back immediately, but that doesnt stop the sun priest from charging his laser, and at that range your only viable choice is to dodge backwards until you are out of his max range.

I think the solution to that is to reduce the range of very problematic abilities like that so they no longer activate if they are at max range
