New mode suggestion: Arcade Arena
|
An arcade arena mode could solve many issues at once. When new patches are released, it's like a reset button to what people expect builds to be. An arcade where there are pre-made characters to choose from with custom gear and passives would give players an instant taste of what the developers expect with the new patch, and it lets developers avoid the situation where people are confused for days not knowing what to do. When that happens, streamers, steam reviewers, even your aunts and uncles, start complaining about all the nerfs. But it takes time to learn the new meta, and what does indeed work.
But if you could release a dozen builds in an arcade, randomized, almost rogue like scenario where people can just try stuff out and see "the vision" they can more easily accept the changes. And get an instantly gratifying gameplay experience. I know the devs have said they don't want to tell people how to play the game, but if they give enough variety at once, then people can take those templates and build over them. It's not like just 1 build that works. And with leaderboards and scores it could also become a second fun mode for people who just want to chill. Anyway those are just my 2 cents. I don't know if it will ever be implemented, but at least it's one possible way of solving some inherent problems with a game that is constantly being balanced and changing meta. Impatience is insatiable. Last edited by Gorbarr#2442 on Apr 26, 2025, 11:45:10 AM Last bumped on Apr 26, 2025, 11:44:29 AM
