End game feedback

I now have over 600 hours in this game, mostly in HC. I play with a small group of friends and have really enjoyed it.
I never did manage to get to the Pinnacle boss content since I'd die before managing to find or try it, but I have spent a good amount of time with the end game content regardless. I like the changes that give you a goal to go for on the map. Prior to these changes, the goals were decoupled. Now I look at my map a little differently about what route would be best to take with which waystone buffs. That makes it a bit more meaningful. What I don't like is that I did a waystone boss towards my quest with a friend who was also on the same step and he did not get credit or atlas points. While this game allows for multiplayer, it does not encourage it which is a real shame. We already play in HC with the knowledge that when someone dies, it will be a while before we play with them again. Which is ok because it's HC and we expect that. But being high level and not being able to do the end game effectively together, actually being penalized for it, doesn't feel right. We really want to enjoy this content together. It would be helpful if it still counted towards the quest like it did before even if it doesn't have an effect on the other player's personal map. I suspect that is the easiest fix. But perhaps an even better solution would be to have a shared guild map that we could all work towards. Give us a reason to work together even when we are working separately at cleansing corruption.
