Aura of purity bug?

i inserted into aura of purity support gems that states they require spirit but they dont take out spirit when u use then in that aura?
also since when aura of purity works on the holder ?aint it supposed to work only on allies not including you ?
or am i mistaken ?
am i missing something ? is it working properly ?
