Atlas Map Bug

Okay i did this map before the tower but i could not reach it for some reason.
Around 5 minutes later i noticed the other blue dot down there and it is accessible, i can even open the map/inventory tab.

I'm afraid to try and do this map because i don't know what could happen afterwards. I've logged out and it is still there.

Is this a new "cave connection" feature between maps?
