PoE 2 mapping feels awful

I'm fine with doing the towers, setting up the whole scene to start mapping but the one thing that drives me crazy is that i can't choose the map i want to do my waystones on. Doing breach and getting meaningful loot in a map like crypt is impossible, doing ritual in swamp map is torture. I do not understand why GGG decided to step away from the atlas map system from PoE1 since it just works so well. They came up with an idea that's not even half as good as its predecessor. Please GGG let us choose the maps we want to run.

Its not a mapping usual.

Its like crawling inside narrow pipes. Pines full of water and sticky dirt, all it for slowing you down.

Even watching this on streams is disgusting.
Sad but tru.

What a strange wish...

PoE2's mapping doesn't just feel awful, it is awful. No player agency (at all), annoying juicing mechanics and bad layouts all around.

Endgame in an ARPG will always be repetitive. ALWAYS. The only thing they can really do, is to make that repetitiveness as enjoyable as possible, which they haven't managed to do in PoE2. PoE1 managed to do this, because they offer several alternatives to most things, player choice and player agency; play what you want to play. When I play the endgame in PoE2, I feel like I'm more often than not forced to play and do content I don't want to do.
agree all layout is bad, map are an open world and if you want to juice its way to munch work, buying the best tablet possible, find a good spot with 3 or 4 tower overlap and then id/craft a quad stash of maps just to run some of them.
